Solar Lights and Light Fixtures

There are some things to think about while shopping for solar lights or solar light fixtures. Such as what type or style are you looking for?  What will they be used for? Do you just want to add accents or spot lighting to your landscaping? Garden décor works well for accent lighting, you get decorations during the day and accent lights at night. The amber and blue solar colored lights also do a great job for emphasizing your landscape. For lighting pathways, driveways or walkways, choose solar path lights. These light fixtures are a little brighter then the accent lights. Solar spot lights are the brightest lights and are great for showing off  flag poles or special features of your landscape. Then there are solar outdoor lights that are for post that can be used on fence posts or to light your patios or decks.  The solar panel collects the energy from the sun and converts it to electrical power that is collected and stored in the rechargeable batteries.

Location would be another thing to think about. Solar lights really need to be in direct sunlight for many hours of the day to get the best charge possible on the rechargeable batteries. Solar light fixtures will charge in indirect sunlight but will start putting stress on the rechargeable batteries which will lessen it's life span a lot faster. This means your solar lights will start turning off sooner and sooner therefore you would be changing your rechargeable batteries more often than you should.
